The college offers Turnitin as a plagiarism checker.

For students checking a class assignment:

  1. Go to the assignment screen in Canvas.
  2. You will see an option to check the assignment for plagiarism using Turnitin.

For Students checking their thesis/dissertation/lit review/other:

  1. Log in to Canvas.
  2. Go to Student Resources course for your school (i.e. SHSP or GSBMS).
  3. Click on the Turnitin link on the course homepage.
  4. Click on submit an assignment.
    • NOTE: Your document is NOT officially submitted here; this is just for YOU to check the document for plagiarism.

For users without Canvas who need access to Turnitin, please reach out to the Help Desk at help@touro.edu

  1. How will you know if it was flagged for plagiarism or not?

  2. Hi Kari, You will see a Similarity Score which tells you how close your work is to texts in Turnitin's database. The score may include quotations you have included in your paper, which if cited properly are fine. What you want to watch out for are large blocks of text that are highlighted in the similarity score as a match to another source. I hope this helps! Katharine
