You can use the Find Full-Text feature of EndNote Desktop to do a bulk search for PDFs of citations in your library. Before you begin, you must have EndNote Desktop installed and an EndNote Library set up. Download instructions can be found on the EndNote Desktop page.

  1. Add references to your EndNote library by downloading .nbib or .ris files from PubMed or other databases and adding those files to your EndNote library.
  2. Select all of the files you want to search for full text.
  3. From the top menu, select References > Find Full Text > Find Full Text

  4. EndNote Desktop will search using your authenticated NYMC login for items in our holdings. Note that this may take a while if you search for a large number of papers at once.
  5. Once the search has finished, you will see a summary of the results under the Find Full Text heading on the left sidebar:Find Full Text Summary Screenshot showing found PDFs and Not Found items
  6. Papers that have a PDF will now have a paperclip icon next to them in the main window.screenshot of citations in EndNote desktop showing paperclips next to two references.
  7. Any citations that EndNote cannot locate, you can request via Interlibrary loan. Please see this FAQ for more information.
